2016, 32 channel sound installation, nails, speakers, cable.
What’s In A Name, is a series of 32 loudspeakers randomly playing the first names of people in Mulhuddart. This piece is a simple representation of people as they represent themselves. Like the Mulhuddart Satellite installation, this is another form of ‘mapping’ and an acknowledgement of all the residents of the area. This piece was made by calling door to door with the intent of meeting the 8,000 people who live in the area and recording their name.
