bypass

2003, 2 channel digital soundwork

These recording where made from treatments of a series of narratives, stories about a bit of road and a field in Palmerstown, in the west of Dublin. Originally, they where presented for a gallery context in 2003 and heard through printed sound panels as part of 6 channel sound installation in Limerick City Gallery of Art.
The process involved recording memories of this piece of land that became the bypass. Then making drawings based on the drawings. And thirdly, making soundworks from samples of the original recordings as a response to the drawings. All the sounds are treatments of voice in the original recording.
