2003, 6 channel sound installation
‘Handball alley’ is a spatial sound installation was recorded in the CIE Sports and Social Club in Limerick and was first exhibited in Limerick City Gallery of Art. It was made in collaboration with a group of young women from Ballinacura-Weston, in Limerick. There is a history of handball and All-Ireland champions in the area and the work focused on a reclaiming of that narrative. This was the first game of handball the woman had played since childhood and since the local handball alley became became unsafe to use.
